Converting negatives to digital

Postby BrianD » Thu Apr 10, 2025 1:37 pm

I have started converting some old negatives to digital using a Reflecta X33-scan but haven't been totally satisfied with it.
I've been looking at the Lomography Digital LIZA + and the Valoi easy35 as possible (and hopefully) better alternatives.
Just wondering whether anyone had any thoughts / recommendations ... many thanks

Hi Brian,

I've just come across this request of yours.....

Some flat-bed scanners have adaptors to handle negatives and invert the images as they scan - Canon 9000 does that. But for greater resolution I have a Nikon Coolscan which is designed for taking in a strip of 6 x 35mm negs at a time, and delivering 'right way 'round' files. You can borrow it if you wish. You'll need to have a scanning program like VueScan to run it though.
