Starry Christmas Eve Night

Postby KirstyC » Sun Jan 03, 2021 1:15 pm

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year to you.

Please can you tell what you think about this image.
It was taken on an iPhone so I am mostly interested in comments on the composition.
I have not used any programme to enhance or edit the image.

Many thanks
Kirsty

Hi Kirsty the image has a good lead in line with the path but where does it take you ? I guess by your mention. Of a starry sky this is what has prompted you to take the image but it does not come over as very starry not as it did when you were there. I know this is due to the limitations of the gear you were using. Personally I find the star shots which have a foreground interest best and this image lacks that. The bench on the left is a distraction as is the small blue light at the end of it. By changing your angle maybe you could have made the bench the foreground interest. We have had a couple of good speakers who have shown us some wonderful star shots check out Alyn Wallace and Alex Nail they should wet your appitite. Cheers Tony.

Thank you both for the feedback. I think you have been very kind.

Are the speakers' sessions recorded and saved on the forum?

I'm finding it a little difficult to navigate.

Hi Kirsty we have not recorded all speakers but those we have you will find a link in presentation and Competition feed back. Click on the speaker and if it has been recorded the link will be in the top post.
